I never write reviews but was looking for my veterinarian's formal website to give to someone and came across the review I see was left by someone about my home health care vet. I have the polar opposite review about this caring veterinarian. I first called her because my poor cat was released from Atlantic Coast Animal Hospital at death's door and though he was so very ill I could not fathom taking him on yet another trip to another vet's office. That is when I called Victoria Carillo for a house call. She not only was able to save his life, even having her assistant Scott come and give him treatment during the day when I was afraid to... but even though he does have a chronic health condition he is still a very happy cat ( still under her care 2 1/2 years later ). In fact all of my cats and dog are under her care. I had another cat she was able to save as well. Unfortunately as sad as it is I have had 2 cats that she has had to assist in their passing, in their own homes and in their own beds with my family petting and reassuring them as they moved on. I feel that this is always as it should be for our beloved pets. If she suggested meds and alternative medicine to keep an animal alive instead of putting them down I am sure she KNEW that she could save them, which is why she suggested it. I have always listened to her suggestions and am thankful for her wisdom and healing abilities.

My regular vet suggested it was time to have my senior dog put to sleep. We discussed the options and came to the conclusion that it was for the best. I wanted my dog to be at home for it, but my regular vet does not do house calls. So, they recommended Dr. Carillo. I called her and after talking to her assistant on the phone she came to my house right away. She was at my house for 3+ hours trying to convince me that a ton of medicines would extend my dogs life by a few months (even though there were no guarantees it would enhance his quality of life). She pressured us for HOURS to spend $ on a small chance we'd get a few extra months. It was just incredibly cruel for her to do that to us. It was such a hard decision to make already. Her insensitivity and refusal to see the bigger picture was awful. Quality of life is more important than quantity and she doesn't see that. My dog was already over 15 yrs old. He had an above average life span. My dog was basically poked and prodded while she did her "testing". Ultimately, she did put my dog to sleep, but it was not the peaceful passing I wanted for him. We were terribly sad to begin with and Dr. Carillo made it a million times worse by making it entirely too stressful.
